In the world of football team kits, Bolton Wanderers are truly unique. After all, can you name another side that have their kit manufactured and sponsored by the same brand? Needless to say Reebok have been very generous to Bolton over the years having already built them a fantastic stadium. I’d say the Trotters now owe another massive debt of gratitude to Reebok for providing them with a shirt to be proud of.
In recent times, the club have had some not so great shirts, and the last effort was a little over complicated with the random block of blue on the sleeve. I’ve always wanted to see Bolton implement a more sleek, laid back design and Reebok have certainly come up with the goods with this fantastic shirt.
The shirt is a lightweight material and is pretty plain apart from two red slashes under the arms, but this is such an effective touch it sets the design off perfectly.
The collar is simple, but does unfortunately include one of those random blocks of blue on one side. This is only a small drawback however, to what is a great shirt.
The away shirt is equally impressive, albeit very similar to the home top but black instead of white and with blue slashes as apposed to red. It does disappoint me that a lot of manufacturers are taking this angle of attack when designing football shirts. I mean, it doesn’t take a lot of effort to put together a slightly different design and fans deserve a choice of designs, and not just a choice of colours when it comes to their teams kits.
I think we can afford to let Reebok off the hook however, due to the overall quality of their shirts this time round. I don’t know if they favour Bolton because of their obvious associations, but the shirt they’ve put together for them is an absolute corker!
